Elk Mountain, WY

What a day, 12 deg to start in Ft Collins, then the wind as I headed north later in the morning toward Cheyenne WY.   Had crosswinds and headwinds up to 60mph to fight through the mountains over the continental divide.  Saw a couple trucks blown over and completely off the highway.   Here is a cellphone shot of Elk Mountain, the wind blowing about 75mph on the mountain, from right to left.    Even with those winds there will appear to be very little movement as the clouds form on the windward side and dissipate rapidly on the leeward.  The nice smooth cloud on top is a near perfect example of a lenticular cloud, pilots will recognize that as a sure sign to stay well away from the mountain, or to be at an altitude much higher.

Pictures I can do, t-shirts not so well. Most of these places are just out there with no stores anywhere nearby. Was -2 this morning in WY, now a balmy 28 in Salt Lake.

Just be glad you weren’t pulling an empty box trailer. Could have been worse, you could have been one of those you wrote about earlier. I won’t say what had happened to the two trucks out of fear for it happening to you.

Hey Ray, you getting up there where I am from. Scottsbluff NE. Like the pictures like this much better, at least we get to see them. Bellsouth for some reason blocks pictures from only you… keep the shiney side up.

My server is shared and somebody else may have been sending spam, or sometimes email from a shared server gets blacklisted just because of where it comes from. I’ve had this problem on and off for years. Not much I can do about it. I have a couple people that I’ll get mail bounced from due to blacklisting. Very frustrating considering how much spam gets dumped into my mailboxes each day.

I figured this is an easier way to share, and no big downloads in people’s email, especially since so many people also check email on their smartphones these days. I don’t get through TN much but maybe we can meetup sometime. It’s been way too long since the last time.
